Gods GPS: Palm Sunday

Gods GPS: Palm Sunday

If you ever get the chance to experience a Palm Sunday Southern Baptist service in Louisiana—go.

It’s not just a service, it’s a soul revival.

The spirit in that room today? Electric. Alive. Comforting.

And the music ministry? Whew.

Soulful voices that didn’t just fill the space—they filled you.

They set the mood, the message, and the movement. You couldn’t help but sway. The music moved you before the sermon even began.

God’s GPS brought me to Beacon Light Baptist Church in Hammond, Louisiana this morning. And I’m so glad I followed the route.

From the moment I walked in, Ms. Barbara welcomed me like I was family. With a hug that said, “You belong here.”

She stayed close to me the entire service, and waited for me after. A reminder that kindness doesn’t need a reason—it just is.

Bishop Herbert Jr. delivered a message that hit me right in the center of my walk—both spiritually and literally.

He spoke about Palm Sunday, about Jesus and the donkey. But the message wasn’t about the parade or the spotlight—it was about humility. About being the vessel, not the spectacle. That God moves through people, not around them. It’s not about us being seen—it’s about Him being felt.

And as someone walking across the country on foot with a mission I know is bigger than me… I felt that truth in every word.

This journey may be quiet. It may feel solitary at times. But today reminded me—God never sends you out empty.

He sends provision. And people. He sends Ms. Barbaras. He sends music. He sends reminders in the form of sermons that land right where they need to.

Feeling blessed.
